Ofsted 2012

Centenary Celebration 27th April 2012

We had a very successful party day and the weather was kind to us.  The children enjoyed an extended lunchtime picnic with a disco.   Parents and the community were invited to join us for a Hog Roast or picnic and view the display of memorabilia and timeline we had created around the school.  There were bouncy castles, a fire performer, magic and balloons, face painting and a disco to entertain the hundreds of people who joined us.  Everyone enjoyed the Hog Roast and there were lots of positive comments from the visitors.   Click here to see more images

We are working towards Investors in Pupils
Investors in Pupils is an award rewarding good practice and involves our children in their own education. Investors in pupils is based on four principles:
  • Commitment
  • Review
  • Action
  • Improvement
It helps pupils find out why they come to school, about the jobs of everyone in the school and how each person is involved in their education. It supports them in making rules for the class, in setting targets for the class and for themselves whilst recognising the importance of relationships and teamwork and the roles and responsibilities of everyone involved in their education. Targets allow pupils to see themselves making progress and children 'gel' and begin to work as a team. It leads to increased motivation for staff and pupils, improved attendance and improved behaviour identified by pupils.
